Indonesiantalk.com — Carrying Out the President’s Directive, South Kalimantan Police Join Mosque Clean-Up Effort

The morning at Al Munawwarah Grand Mosque in Banjarbaru felt different from usual. Amid the rhythm of daily worship, hundreds of personnel from the South Kalimantan Regional Police blended seamlessly into the mosque’s surroundings. They came not with standard police gear, but with brooms, mops, and cleaning tools in hand.

On Thursday (February 5, 2026), the mosque courtyard, ablution areas, and the main prayer hall were cleaned collectively in a spirit of gotong royong—communal cooperation. Rank and position were set aside as officers worked side by side, tending to every corner of the house of worship to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for congregants.

This clean-up action was far from a ceremonial gesture. Behind it lay a message of care and public service, as well as a concrete follow-up to the directive of President Prabowo Subianto, emphasizing the importance of environmental cleanliness.

Head of Public Relations of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Adam Erwindi, S.I.K., M.H., explained that the social service activity was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen emotional ties between the police and the community while carrying out the President’s instruction.

“This reflects our commitment to implementing the President’s directive on environmental cleanliness. More than that, it nurtures the spirit of mutual cooperation and reinforces the relationship between the police and the community,” he said.

For the officers involved, maintaining security and public order does not always take the form of patrols or law enforcement. Sometimes, a simple presence—such as cleaning a mosque together—delivers a deeper meaning.

The management of Al Munawwarah Grand Mosque warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the concern shown by the South Kalimantan Police in helping maintain the cleanliness and comfort of the worship facilities.

By the end of the activity, the mosque looked visibly cleaner. Yet what lingered was more than gleaming floors: there was a sense of togetherness, leadership by example, and a strong message that the police stand as part of the community—caring, safeguarding, and serving.

Through this simple action, the South Kalimantan Regional Police hope the spirit of cleanliness and communal cooperation will continue to grow, not only within the police force but also throughout everyday community life.
