IndonesiaBrief.com — The Indonesian Capital Market Professionals Association (PROPAMI) held a National Seminar for Capital Market Professionals under the theme “The Future of Indonesia’s Capital Market: Synergy Between Policy, Industry, and the Profession for Sustainable Growth,” alongside its 2026 Annual Members Meeting (RUAT).
The event took place at the Ballroom Suagi, The Papadanyan Hotel, Bandung, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, bringing together PROPAMI board members and representatives of capital market professionals to strengthen communication and cooperation amid the continued development of Indonesia’s capital market industry.
The seminar featured discussions involving representatives from various professional segments of the capital market sector.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and PROPAMI to strengthen cooperation in educational activities, promote sustainable financial literacy, and develop collaboration between IDX Representative Offices and PROPAMI Regional Leadership Councils (DPW) across Indonesia.
In his remarks, PROPAMI Chairman NS. Aji Martono emphasized the role of capital market professionals in improving financial literacy among investors and the wider public across different regions.
He said broader public understanding of capital market investment would be an important factor in supporting the growth of Indonesia’s investor base.
Beyond the national seminar, RUAT 2026 served as an internal organizational forum to discuss PROPAMI’s annual agenda, evaluate its programs and establish the organization’s future direction. The meeting was attended by representatives from PROPAMI Regional Leadership Councils across Indonesia.
Legislative and Regulatory Perspectives
The national seminar was attended by H. Fathi, a member of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), who delivered a policy perspective.
The event also featured a keynote address by Edi Broto Suwarno, Head of the Securities Institution Supervision Department at the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
The participation of representatives from the legislative and regulatory sectors provided perspectives on policy, governance and supervision within Indonesia’s capital market industry.
The seminar also brought together several speakers from different sectors, including Saidu Solihin, Director of Corporate Valuation at the Indonesia Stock Exchange; Bobby Cahyadi, President Director of Jamkrida West Java; and Dr. Erman Sumirat from the academic community.
The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. David Nathanael Sutyanro.
The panel examined various aspects of Indonesia’s capital market, including corporate valuation for companies preparing to go public through the stock exchange, guarantee support for businesses—particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)—and academic perspectives on the development of an increasingly integrated financial industry.
The combination of speakers representing the stock exchange, guarantee sector and academia broadened the discussion, covering capital market operations, business financing support and academic analysis of developments across the financial sector.
PROPAMI’s Role in the Capital Market Ecosystem
PROPAMI is a professional organization whose vision is to become a dignified and ethical organization with an active role at both national and international levels.
One of its key missions is to strengthen the role and capacity of its members by developing trained and competent professionals while expanding cooperation with the government and relevant stakeholders.
Human resource competency is also becoming an increasingly important issue as Indonesia’s financial services and capital market industries continue to evolve.
The Capital Market Professional Certification Institute (LSPPM) plays a role in addressing the growing demand for competent human resources in the sector, as the need for qualified professionals continues to increase alongside industry development.
The Bandung event highlighted the role of professional organizations in bringing together capital market stakeholders through education, discussions and organizational forums.
PROPAMI regularly organizes seminars, training programs and continuing professional education initiatives for its members as part of its efforts to strengthen professional capacity and support the development of Indonesia’s capital market ecosystem.
