indonesiabrief.com/ — SUNRA Unveils Advanced Electric Motorcycles at Asiabike Jakarta 2025

The Asiabike Jakarta (ABJ) 2025 exhibition officially opened today at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, in collaboration with the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) 2025.

This prestigious event serves as a major platform for electric vehicle industry players across Southeast Asia, including participants from China, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

One of the standout highlights of this year’s exhibition is the presence of SUNRA, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer from China. SUNRA showcased a lineup of innovative and cutting-edge electric motorcycles focused on sustainable mobility.

The company’s delegation included prominent figures such as Ismeth Wibowo, Wu Jianhua, Guo Biao, and Franky Noventus, reinforcing SUNRA's commitment to developing an eco-friendly transportation ecosystem in Asia.

SUNRA Introduces “Future” and Other Premium Electric Motorcycle Models

At the exhibition, SUNRA officially launched its latest product line titled “Future,” a futuristic electric motorcycle available in three power variants: 1500W with Graphene battery 2500W and 3000W with Lithium batteries.

The highest variant of the “Future” model can travel up to 115 km on a single charge, making it an ideal choice for daily urban and suburban commuting.

In addition to “Future,” SUNRA also presented its premium models—Bowen and Angela—larger electric bikes designed with enhanced comfort, safety, and aesthetics for riders seeking a modern and stylish riding experience.

Advanced Safety and Reliability Features

SUNRA reasserted its position at the forefront of electric vehicle technology by integrating state-of-the-art features into its lineup, including:

TCS (Traction Control System): Ensures stability on slippery surfaces or during sudden acceleration.

BMS (Battery Management System): Automatically shuts down the engine if overheating is detected, ensuring battery safety.

IPX7 Certification: Provides water resistance up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes, allowing reliable performance in extreme conditions and tropical rainy seasons.

With these innovations, SUNRA demonstrates its commitment to delivering electric motorcycles that are safe, durable, and well-suited for diverse Southeast Asian road conditions.

Rapid Growth of Indonesia’s Electric Vehicle Market

Indonesia’s electric vehicle market, particularly in the electric bicycle segment, has seen significant growth—even in rural areas. SUNRA, an active member of the AISMOLI association, continues to push for cross-sector collaboration to accelerate the development of supporting infrastructure, including public education and charging stations.

Government Support Accelerates Industry Momentum

General Chairman of Periklindo, Moeldoko, emphasized the crucial role of government support through subsidy programs in driving industry growth.

“We hope for certainty. The business sector is waiting. Whether the subsidy remains in the form of direct support—IDR 7.5 million or IDR 10 million for conversion—it’s a big help. But we’re also open to other forms like VAT incentives,” Moeldoko said.

In 2024, electric motorcycle sales reached 62,541 units, a dramatic increase from 11,532 units in the previous year—indicating a growing public interest in eco-friendly transportation.

A Concrete Step Toward Green Technology by 2050

More than just an exhibition, Asiabike Jakarta 2025 represents a tangible step toward Indonesia’s ambition of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

The participation of major brands like DATAI, DIMENTRO, PHYLION, TIANYING, and ZHIYANG, along with new players such as ADHERE, Ananda, DEGANG, and Jinpeng, signals a massive transformation in Southeast Asia’s automotive industry.

Through synergy among industry players, the government, and the public, ABJ 2025 stands as a symbol of the shift toward a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable future in mobility.
