The highly anticipated biographical film, “Ir. H. Djuanda: The Unifier of Indonesia’s Seas,” was officially launched in a ceremony brimming with patriotic fervor.

This historic event was attended by numerous distinguished figures, including former Chief of the Indonesian Navy Admiral TNI (Ret.) Dr. Ade Supandi SE, BCA’s Director of Risk Management Antonius Widodo Mulyono, and Special Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Wahyu Muryadi.

Also present were Erwita Dianti, Director of Creative Economy Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mohamad Amin, Director of Film, Music, and Animation at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Prof. Dr. Agus Suradika, Rector of Universitas Teknologi Muhammadiyah Jakarta, Dwiki Dharmawan, Expert Council of the Cultural Arts Institute at PP Muhammadiyah, Andika Prabangkara, Director of Mixpro, and the extended family of the last Prime Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Djuanda Kartawidjaja.

This film is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between the Cultural Arts Institute of PP Muhammadiyah, BCA, and Mixpro. “Ir. H. Djuanda: The Unifier of Indonesia’s Seas” is not just a historical documentation but a tribute to preserving and spreading the national values championed by this iconic figure.

The film chronicles the life of Ir. H. Djuanda Kartawidjaja, highlighting his significant role as a leader and true patriot who not only safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty but also bequeathed leadership, moderation, and territorial integrity values that united Indonesia.

Directed by Ery Isnanto and produced by Andika Prabangkara, the film employs advanced technology, including a blend of Unreal Engine and Dolby Atmos, providing an immersive visual and audio experience for the audience.

The film will be screened in CGV cinemas and Muhammadiyah’s Pop-Up Cinemas, and distributed nationwide through a grassroots approach. This initiative aims to ensure that the important messages and values of Ir. H. Djuanda reach all segments of society, especially the younger generation.

“Ir. H. Djuanda: The Unifier of Indonesia’s Seas” exemplifies an impressive collaboration in preserving and spreading national values. It not only reminds us of the importance of our past but also inspires us to build a better future.

Ir. H. Djuanda Kartawidjaja, a Muhammadiyah cadre from West Java, was known as the quiet engineer who became the third most important figure after the duo of Soekarno-Hatta. His greatest contribution was the Djuanda Declaration, a concept of national territorial unity encompassing land, sea, and air, which became the cornerstone of Indonesia’s national unity.

Ir. H. Djuanda’s name has been immortalized in various important facilities, such as Surabaya International Airport, Jatiluhur Multipurpose Dam in Purwakarta, Taman Hutan Raya in Bandung, and Djuanda University in Bogor.

This film not only recounts Djuanda’s heroism but also portrays another side of him as a forward-thinking, modern, and moderate Muslim. The positive messages conveyed in the film are expected to inspire Indonesia’s younger generation to actively contribute to the nation’s development.

The entire Indonesian public is invited to watch “Ir. H. Djuanda: The Unifier of Indonesia’s Seas” and draw wisdom and inspiration from the extraordinary journey of a true leader and patriot, Ir. H. Djuanda Kartawidjaja.
