indonesiabrief.com/ — Akpol 68-Dharma Gathering Breaks Record, Becomes a Stage for Camaraderie and Nostalgia Among Retired Generals

A warm, laughter-filled atmosphere rich with memories marked the Silaturahmi (reunion) of the Akpol 68-Dharma Alumni Association, held at the Balai Tetap Setia PP Polri, Jalan Siaga, South Jakarta.

Hundreds of retired senior and mid-ranking police officers, accompanied by their spouses, came together to reminisce, greet one another, and rekindle the bonds they have shared for over half a century.

Komjen Pol (Ret.) Drs. Ahwil Loetan, S.H., MBA, Chairman of the Akpol I Class of 68-Dharma Alumni Association, emphasized that the event was more than just a reunion—it was a way to strengthen the deep connections among members.

“At an age where many of us are no longer young, we have become even more united, even warmer in building our togetherness,” he said.

Notable figures in attendance included Irjen Pol (Ret.) Drs. Marwan Paris, MBA, along with several other retired generals. The event also drew senior journalists such as Indonews.id Editor-in-Chief Asri Hadi, EDITOR.ID Editor-in-Chief Edi Winarto, and Matra Magazine Editor-in-Chief and SS Executive Budi Rahardjo.

Festivities Filled with Culture and Anti-Drug Messages

The gathering was enlivened by performances of angklung, line dancing, ballroom dancing, as well as magic shows, traditional dances, and the daring art of debus.

One of the standout moments came from Brigjen Pol Dr. Victor Pudjiadi, SpB, FICS, DFM—a senior officer from the National Narcotics Board (BNN)—who captivated the audience with his magic tricks while seamlessly delivering anti-drug messages with humor and charisma.

In a show of unity, all participants wore white tops and black bottoms, a dress code extended to guests as well, creating a sense of harmony that brightened the entire occasion.

Breaking an ORI Record

This year’s reunion officially broke the Original Rekor Indonesia (ORI) record for the largest gathering of guests aged over 70. A total of 128 elderly participants were recorded—a remarkable achievement.

The ORI certificate was presented directly to Komjen Pol (Ret.) Ahwil Loetan on behalf of all members.

“Even though our numbers have dwindled from 298 to just 78, our spirit and camaraderie have never faded,” Ahwil declared passionately.

A Legacy of Togetherness

The Akpol 68-Dharma Alumni Association continues to regularly host social events, friendly gatherings, and similar reunions.

This gathering was not only a celebration of history but also living proof that true friendship stands the test of time—and can even break records.
