INDONESIABRIEF.com — Glengoyne and Tamdhu Make Official Debut in Indonesia’s Premium Whisky Market
JAKARTA — Glengoyne and Tamdhu, two renowned premium single malt Scotch whisky brands from Scotland under the portfolio of Ian Macleod Distillers, have officially entered the Indonesian market through an exclusive event titled “Unveiling The Cask” at Cohiba Atmosphere Jakarta.
The launch marks the arrival of two distinctive expressions of single malt Scotch whisky in Indonesia’s rapidly expanding premium spirits market, offering whisky enthusiasts and collectors a broader selection of world-class drams.
Glengoyne is internationally recognized for its exceptionally slow distillation process, one of the slowest in Scotland, producing an elegant, refined, and remarkably complex whisky. In contrast, Tamdhu is celebrated for its rich, layered flavor profile achieved through exclusive maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, delivering a luxurious and full-bodied whisky experience.
The launch event featured Mr. Gordon Dundas, Brand Development & Advocacy Director for Glengoyne and Tamdhu, alongside Mr. Edhi Sumadi, Chief Principal of Glengoyne & Tamdhu Indonesia. During the presentation, they discussed the continued growth of Indonesia’s premium whisky market, shifting consumer preferences toward high-quality single malts, and the brands’ long-term commitment to introducing authentic Scotch whisky experiences rooted in craftsmanship, heritage, and authenticity.
“Indonesia is an exciting and increasingly sophisticated market for premium single malt whisky,” the speakers noted, highlighting the growing appreciation among Indonesian consumers for authentic whisky with distinctive character and provenance.
As part of the debut celebration, invited guests enjoyed a specially curated whisky pairing dinner in collaboration with Cohiba Atmosphere Jakarta. The four-course dining experience was carefully matched with Glengoyne 15 Year Old, Glengoyne 18 Year Old, Tamdhu 15 Year Old, and Tamdhu 18 Year Old, showcasing how each whisky complements different culinary creations while revealing its unique depth and complexity.
The introduction of Glengoyne and Tamdhu reflects the increasing sophistication of Indonesia’s premium spirits landscape, where consumers are seeking not only exceptional quality but also authentic stories, heritage, and artisanal production methods behind every bottle.
With their official debut, both Scottish single malt brands aim to establish a strong presence in Indonesia by offering whisky lovers a taste of Scotland’s rich distilling tradition through expressions that embody patience, craftsmanship, and timeless excellence.
